Our leaders have been living on “Cloud 9″… If only they would realise that they have squandered all the chances. Raja Rental is another one in the long line of nothing but a corrupt devious traitors … More than democracy Pakistan needs someone who will systematically work on improving the infrastructure of the state. European countries had exactly the same problems but they chalked out developmental plans for the state regardless of which political party was in power!! Do Pakistan’s politicians have it in them to focus on betterment of the nation???? Or will they always be paying the development funds to individual politicians to squander it on vote buying schemes like Benazir Income Support!!!! For crying out loud these people need to pull themselves together… Who knows they might end up like Najeebullah of Afghanistan….or Ceausescu of Romania!!!! And what about ZA Bhutto & Benazir… what sort of end was that!!! I am sure that you must have also read “It never pays to shortchange your country”.

Since independence Pakistan has invested very little in the infra structure. We started off with a population of 35 million and now the population is supposedly 180 million.. The height of irresponsibility is that we have not had a census for at least 2 decades!! What sort of improvements and planning can you expect from a state that does not even bother to find out the size of the population. Pakistan seems to have bred half brained corrupt politicians and equally inept bureaucracy to match. One can understand the politicians attitudes because they after all most of them are off springs of the colonial big wigs who together with the bureaucracy have destroyed the fabric of this country. Pakistan is seriously lagging behind in every aspect… other than its population!!! No one made a wish list for what was needed in an ideal world … Rather than collect taxes the country just stumbled along on Foreign Aid… most of which was squandered by the rulers. Sadly no country the size of Pakistan can run on Aid ..people should understand that somewhere along the line they have to pay something called TAXES… Nothing is for free if you want water you have to pay… in UK for eg the fresh water costs £50 per month and the sewage another £50… Council Tax £150-200 per month and Tax at 30-40% is extra. On top of all this there is VAT at 20% on most of your purchases. Pakistan has to seriously tackle the tax avoidance culture in order to develop. But then in the same breath they also need to confront the rampant corruption in the corridors of the state. Without these measures Pakistan will turn into a third world African country in no time. You have seen the deterioration in 5 years… Just imagine 5 more years of corrupt rule!! People of this country need a reality check.. and the need to pull themselves together and stop the blind trail and pursual of corrupt no hoper political leaders.
